My name is Skylar Kutcher. I am a junior at McNicholas High School. I have ran track since third grade and cross country since sixth grade. I love to be outside and spend time with my family. In my free time, I am always doing something to enhance my creativity. I make custom drawings and paintings for my house and for my family's garden/farm. I love working on projects and making creations for other people to make them happy. I have found that this is what brings me a lot of joy in life and it is my purpose.

Artist's Statement

Using creativity to bring joy to other people...

When I think of an idea for my artwork, it will be my best representation of an assignment/idea and it will be based off of my interests, thoughts, and feelings. I am very connected to my art because throughout the process of making it, it allows me to deeply think through a subject and notice how beautiful everything in life is. I try to represent the beauty that I feel through my art. It motivates me and it makes me excited to go in depth with every aspect of a project. When I am creating an artwork or project, I plan it out first and make sure that I have completely thought it through. I also make sure that what I will be creating correctly portrays my message and how I feel. When I am working on any kind of project, I remind my self of the three "C"s. For me, those are composition, contrast, and consistency. My art is very important to me and it is my favorite form of communication and expression.
