Yoga with Kip
I have been practicing yoga since the early 2000s. I began practicing yoga as a coping strategy for my anxiety. I knew that I could not rid myself of anxiety but needed to manage it. I now consider yoga my "chill pill". After a couple of classes I knew that one day I wanted to be an instructor. A big life change occurred in 2017 and it was time to make the leap. I completed my Yoga Teacher Training at aUM Yoga located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was one of the best experiences in my life! I learned much about yoga, and myself. Using the skills I learned during my training and my practice I finally became an instructor in 2018. I am grateful for every class that I teach as I am able to give back a little of what yoga has given me.
To date, I have taught over 1,000 yoga classes! This is my passion and I love to give back. Each class that I teach is a little different and I continue to evolve as a teacher. I believe that yoga should be available to everyone. I enjoy teaching to a variety of students and variety of locations. I truly want to share my gift of yoga with others.
I teach many styles of yoga and have found benefits in each type of practice. I mainly teach chair yoga, gentle yoga (Hatha) and restorative yoga (Yin). I also enjoy teaching Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga. The gentle and restorative styles help calm my soul and anxiety while chair yoga allows one of my best friends in the world to practice yoga as she is in a wheel chair. There is a yoga style for everyone!
