Sub 100 dollars per ton of CO² removal is the key to a cleaner, more sustainable world.
What we offer is a real path to a cheap, scalable on a global level, extremely flexible, and permanent option for a system of CO² removal. In essence we offer a solution that can ACTUALLY make a difference.
This is not meant to be seen as a "science fair project" or the average student project that is abandoned six months in after the second or third major hurdle. We are dedicated, serious, and very passionate about the success of our mission. We view this not only as invaluable experience but much more importantly a service to the world once we are established.
Sub 100 dollars per ton is an ambitious but achievable benchmark. Unlike the very energy hungry fans stationary DAC units use, our filters will rely on natural airflow being supplied by the drone simply flying through the air.
Through the use of solar powered batteries we'll be able to reduce energy costs per flight/regen. to zero. Optimization of endurance flight duration and onboard CO² storage capacity will improve the lifespan of all components as well as giving us many more hours of drone flight per mission.
Using very thin and simplistic filter fabric shapes, such as a wind sock design, as well as cost effective filtration liquids to coat the filters will cut costs drastically. Our countless hours of R&D will allow us to design an extremely aerodynamic drone and filter combination as well as record meticulous data through onboard sensors to maximize CO² hotspot targeting, all to improve efficiency of removal.
In addition to all of this, the CO² collection process will be cutting edge and involve a mothership drone to collect full canisters of CO² from the SkyTrees. Finally, with the help of the concept of economies of scale, it is realistic this design could reach well below 50 dollars a ton
Due to the nature of drones, we will have the potential for limitless scalability. Each unit will be relatively inexpensive, only a few thousand at the most expensive end, giving us an easy route to high levels of mass production.
This coupled with an incredible PR angle of seeing climate change being resolved first hand, will give way to the opportunity for these drones to be welcomed everywhere.
Drones are incredibly mobile and adaptable. We would have the ability to send swarms of drones that target all the CO² hotspots in a region using an AI system, to cover thousands of miles and process hundreds of thousands of m^3 of air per hour.
This solution is here to stay! Unlike current DAC systems that will eventually become obsolete or inefficient once they have cleaned their region, these drones will last for years and simply relocate to a new "dirty" region of air.
