In this mural, a crescent moon hangs just so in the nighttime sky, casting a hazy glow over a tranquil scene below, where herons preen shimmering feathers, lush branches gently sway in the breeze, and a night garden blooms under a midnight spell. Designed in collaboration with Lisel Jane Ashlock.

There are some stock day/night wallpapers, but I want to add my own. Specifically it is the fedora 34 day and night that I downloaded. In other words during the day it should be the lighter wallpaper ans during night the darker one.

I've just purchased an iPad Mini 6. I noticed that when using the dynamic day/night wallpapers, they always stay on 'night' mode if I'm using the dark mode theme. It's only if I use light mode that the wallpapers change to 'day' during the daytime.

Editing images is a very personal thing. Some people like a lot of contrast in their images, some like a lot of color and others like to keep things as natural as possible. In this tutorial, I will show you the basic workflow I use to edit my Astrophotography night-time images. You can either use your own image to work on as you follow these simple steps or you can download my sample photo here.

Amazing makeover!!! I love how you used wallpaper to give the night table a whole new vibe. I MUST try this technique out for myself. You make everything sound so do-able with your easy to follow instructions. Thank-you for sharing all of your knowledge.

The night is calm and quiet. In the bespoke panoramic wallpaper Au clair de lune, everything is still: the water of the lake, the clouds, the grass and the leaves of the trees. Only two birds fly towards new horizons, illuminated by the moon whose light gives substance to all the elements of this nocturnal postcard. The beautiful reflection in the lake draws a path to the mountain at the bottom. This soothing panoramic wallpaper, worn by blue and a play of chiaroscuro, definitely invites us to dream.

A serene starry night, this wallpaper is a beautiful scatter of stars that turns any space into a calming environment. This roll is washable and peel and stick to apply, pull up to remove and is safe for walls while leaving no sticky residue behind. Easily repositionable while installing, this product should NOT be applied to textured walls - smooth clean, dry, painted surface only (no Non-Stick paint or soap residue).

Photographers from all over the world caught the sturgeon supermoon in all of its splendor last night. Earth's satellite appeared bigger and brighter because its orbit brought it a little closer to home.

When I initially bought my Arlo, the night images in my garden were fine. But I think I may have accidentally changed a setting because all night pictures are dark now. To the etxent where it is pretty much uselss. Anyone has an idea how to change that. I have searched the forum and manual without luck.

Your sample looks very much like mine but when my wife walks into the scene it does show her well enough for identification. I bought a pack of three night lights at Sams that are motion acitivated and run on 4 small batteries. They help lots to illuminate. But I did not have them on in the test with my wife as mentioned in this post. Good luck.

There are no settings you can change to make night vision better or worse. Perhaps a description of what the difference is would help. For instance, were the first videos in color and are now black and white? Are the current videos black or just illuminated for a relatively short distance? Are they blurry now? Night vision is limited due to the IR illuminators having a short "throw" and the lack of color is just the attempt to get a useful image in a difficult scenario.

Thanks so very much for your answer. I really appreciate that a lot. The pictures at night look like the attached. I basically cannot see the face of any person passing by and seem to remember it was different initially (first night when I was playing around)

Not sure why this would happen - doesn't look different to me. Check your settings to ensure night vision is on. Also, use live view and click on the "sun" icon. Adjust brightness and be sure to save it. Is there a difference?

This cool space wallpaper shows a glowing emerald nebula as seen by NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope which is reminiscent of the glowing ring wielded by the superhero Green Lantern. In the comic books, the diminutive Guardians of the Planet "Oa" forged his power ring, but astronomers believe rings like this are actually sculpted by the powerful light of giant "O" stars. O stars are the most massive type of star known to exist. Named RCW 120, this region of hot gas and glowing dust can be found in the murky clouds encircled by the tail of the constellation Scorpius. The ring of dust is actually glowing in infrared colors that our eyes cannot see, but show up brightly when viewed by Spitzer's infrared detectors. At the center of this ring are a couple of giant stars whose intense ultraviolet light has carved out the bubble, though they blend in with other stars when viewed in infrared.

This composite image, which has become a popular poster, shows a global view of Earth at night, compiled from over 400 satellite images. NASA researchers have used these images of nighttime lights to study weather around urban areas.

Assuming I am using the same mirrorless camera and lens do I keep all the subs & calibration files from all the nights & stack together? or do I just keep the final stacked tiff image from DSS on the first night and then on subsequent nights stack this tiff file with the new subs/flats/darks to make a new final stacked tiff and so on OR or do I stack the different final tiff images from each night together in DSS?

In DSS, it would probably be best to put each night's subs in a different group. Along the bottom of the sub selection list, there should be tabs that say "Main Group", "Group 1", etc. Click the rightmost of these to start a new group. Put each session's calibration frames (dark frames, flats, etc.) in the appropriate group. (If your exposure lengths and the ambient temperature were the same for each session, you can reuse dark frames; but you have to take new flat frames basically every session. You can usually reuse bias frames for the same camera for quite a while -- maybe a year or whatever -- because they aren't dependent on your main subs' exposure length or ambient temperature.) See the attached screenshot for where these tabs are, and where to click to add a new group. Remember to save the file list between sessions, so you can easily add new groups of subs to what you've already got.

In my experience, DSS will refuse to stack subs that are different resolutions together. So if one night was with a 4000x3000 camera and the next was with a 5000x4000 camera, DSS won't combine them. If you can crop down the 5000x4000 subs to match the same field of view as the 4000x3000 subs, that can work; but in my experience, it's pretty unlikely that you'll end up with the same field with two different cameras, unless you carefully chose optics, etc. to make sure that one camera's cropped FOV will line up exactly with the other's full-size FOV.

The key to it all is the "registration" process in any astro-image processing software. This moves the frame around, and resizes, whatever is necessary, such that the images from one night match as well as possible the images from another. To some extent or another, it works completely independent of camera, tube, location, whatever. You can use your images and combine them with Hubble's if you like. 2351a5e196
