If you want a simple wired setup for everyday calls, choose Skullcandy Jib; if you need wireless noise control for Zoom calls, choose Amazon Renewed Apple AirPods Pro. The Jib keeps things straightforward with a 3.5 mm plug and in-line call controls. AirPods Pro add active noise cancellation, Transparency mode, and Bluetooth freedom, with more features to weigh against a renewed-product warranty.

• Skullcandy Jib’s strength: a direct 3.5 mm wired connection, in-line microphone, and simple call and track controls. Trade-off: no wireless connection or active noise cancellation.
• Amazon Renewed Apple AirPods Pro’s strength: Bluetooth, active noise cancellation, Transparency mode, and spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. Trade-off: they need charging, and the listed warranty is 90 days.
• Jib suits: anyone who prefers a straightforward wired pair for calls, travel, and listening through a compatible headphone jack.
• AirPods Pro suit: someone who wants wireless earbuds with adjustable ways to manage surrounding sound.
• For Zoom calls, choose based on whether you value a direct wired connection or wireless convenience and noise-control features more.
The Skullcandy Jib is a basic in-ear option built around a 3.5 mm AUX connection. That makes its appeal easy to understand: plug it into a compatible device and use the in-line microphone to take calls. The cable also carries controls for playing or pausing audio and skipping to the next track, so basic listening adjustments do not require reaching for the device.
For a Zoom call, the Jib’s practical advantage is that its connection does not rely on Bluetooth or a battery. If the device you use has a 3.5 mm jack, that can mean fewer wireless setup steps. The in-line microphone is specified for calls from a mobile device, and the call and track controls support a simple shift between talking and listening. The listing does not provide detailed microphone performance information, so I would not assume it has special voice-enhancement features.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.

This is a sensible pick for someone who wants a lightweight, no-fuss wired pair and has a compatible jack. It could also fit a traveler who prefers a direct connection over managing wireless pairing. The listed one-year manufacturer warranty is another straightforward detail to consider.
Who should skip it: Skip the Jib if your device lacks a 3.5 mm jack, or if you specifically want Bluetooth, active noise cancellation, or a wireless listening setup.
The Amazon Renewed Apple AirPods Pro are the more feature-rich choice. They connect wirelessly over Bluetooth, with a listed range of 10 meters, and offer active noise cancellation for reducing outside sound. Transparency mode offers the opposite approach: it is designed to let you hear and interact with the world around you without taking the earbuds out.
That combination can suit someone moving between a focused call and everyday surroundings. During a Zoom call in a noisy space, active noise cancellation may be useful for reducing distractions around the listener. Transparency mode can be useful when you want more awareness between calls. Those features describe noise control for the listening experience; the supplied information does not specify microphone noise reduction or guarantee how your voice will sound to other people.
The AirPods Pro also include spatial audio with dynamic head tracking and Adaptive EQ, which automatically adjusts music to your ears. Those are listening features rather than essential call tools, but they may matter if you expect to use the same earbuds for music and other audio. Three sizes of soft, tapered silicone tips provide more fit options than the Jib’s two included sizes.
The listed battery average life is eight hours. That gives a useful reference for wireless use, but it also means charging is part of ownership; the product includes a MagSafe charging case. The item is described as renewed, and its listed warranty is 90 days, so buyers should factor that warranty term into their decision rather than treating it as identical to the Jib’s one-year manufacturer warranty.
Who should skip it: Skip the AirPods Pro if you want a wired pair that never needs charging, or if you would rather avoid paying attention to Bluetooth and battery management.
• Best for a direct wired connection → Skullcandy Jib. Its 3.5 mm AUX plug connects to a compatible headphone jack without Bluetooth pairing.
• Best for wireless use → Amazon Renewed Apple AirPods Pro. They connect over Bluetooth and have a listed range of 10 meters.
• Best for active noise control → AirPods Pro. They include active noise cancellation and a separate Transparency mode.
• Best for simple call and track controls → Skullcandy Jib. The in-line controls can handle calls, play or pause audio, and skip forward.
• Best for more tip-size options → AirPods Pro. They include three silicone tip sizes, compared with two ear-gel sizes for the Jib.
• Best if you do not want to charge your earbuds → Skullcandy Jib. Its wired design does not depend on the listed battery life of the AirPods Pro.
• Best for spatial audio and Adaptive EQ → AirPods Pro. Both are specified as features of the Apple earbuds.
• Best for a longer listed warranty → Skullcandy Jib. Its listed manufacturer warranty is one year; the renewed AirPods Pro listing specifies 90 days.
I would choose the Amazon Renewed Apple AirPods Pro for Zoom calls if I wanted wireless freedom and the option to switch between active noise cancellation and Transparency mode. Those features make them the more flexible fit for moving between a call and a changing environment.
I would choose the Skullcandy Jib instead if my priority were a simple wired connection, in-line controls, and no battery to manage. For my Zoom-call recommendation, though, I prefer the AirPods Pro’s wireless design and sound-control options, while keeping the shorter listed warranty in mind.
Before choosing, check the connection your call device supports. The Jib needs a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The AirPods Pro use Bluetooth, so they are the more natural fit if you want to move around without a cable, but their listed 10-meter range is a specification, not a guarantee of identical performance in every room or setup.
Think about what “noise control” means for your calls. The Jib’s noise isolation is associated with the fit of its silicone ear gels. The AirPods Pro add electronic active noise cancellation and Transparency mode. Neither product’s supplied details give a specific microphone noise-reduction claim, so it would be a mistake to treat either feature set as proof that your voice will always sound clearer to other call participants.
Fit is worth considering, too. The Jib includes small and medium ear gels; the AirPods Pro include three tip sizes. A secure, comfortable fit can affect how practical in-ear earbuds feel over a long meeting, but the number of sizes alone cannot tell you which pair will fit your ears better.
Finally, account for ownership details, not just call features. The Jib is wired and has a listed one-year manufacturer warranty. AirPods Pro offer wireless features and a charging case, but the listing specifies eight hours of average battery life and a 90-day warranty. If current price matters to your decision, check the current price on Amazon rather than relying on an outdated figure.
For a simple wired call setup, the Jib offers a 3.5 mm connection and an in-line microphone. For wireless use and active noise control while listening, the AirPods Pro offer more features; the supplied details do not establish that either has superior microphone performance.
No active noise cancellation is listed for the Jib. Its noise isolation comes from the in-ear fit, supported by the included small and medium silicone ear gels.
Yes. They are wireless earbuds with a listed average battery life of eight hours and include a MagSafe charging case. The Jib is wired, so it does not have a listed battery life.
The Jib lists a one-year manufacturer warranty. The Amazon Renewed AirPods Pro listing specifies a 90-day warranty, so that is an important difference to weigh alongside the wireless and noise-control features.
