About me:

 Dr. Santosh Kumar Suman is currently working as a Lecturer (Regular) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Maharana Pratap Polytechnic, Gorakhpur. He graduated from the Azad IET, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India with B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering in 2013 & M.Tech (Control & Instrumentation) from the Electrical Engineering Department of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur; He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering Department, MMMUT. His research interests area include Intelligent & Optimization Techniques, Control Systems, and Model Order Reduction. He has published several research papers in national Conference and SCI/SCImago Referred Journals. He is a member of IEEE and also a professional member of ACDOS, India. He has a total experience of 6 years in teaching and research.

Objective: During the research work of my Ph.D., the main objective behind the research work carried out is categorized into two parts, taking into account the challenges associated with reduced-order modeling; the first part essentially addresses the brief study of most of the model order reduction methods available in the literature, followed by developing some new order reduction techniques applicable to SISO / MIMO linear time-invariant systems. This task has been accomplished in the thesis using both conventional and proposed methods. Compared with other well-known order reduction methods that have been recently published, the efficacy and superiority of the newly developed methods have been endorsed. The second part of this work deals with the design methodology to reduce state /suboptimal controllers, which can also be applied to the original system as well. Furthermore, the application of reduced-order modeling in robotics has also been taken. The balancing control of a bicycle robot (bicyrobo) is discussed in detail. Finally, a design approach based on reduced order modeling has been proposed to derive the specified robust structure and obtain the reduced H-infinity controller using the proposed method.
