I am an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Madras, Chennai. I am an affiliated researcher with Center for Technology Policy (CTaP) at IIT Madras, and Fellow at ISEP. My research interests include energy economics, applied microeconomics, industrial economics and economics of global climate change. Prior to joining at the IIT Madras, I was teaching at the Madras School of Economics, Chennai.

The courses that I teach at IIT Madras include Principles of Economics, Applied Economics, Energy Economics and International Economics. I taught "Urban Economics" at National Rail and Transport Institute. At Madras School of Economics, I taught Energy Economics, Industrial Development and Industrial Organization, Multinational Enterprises and Economic Policies, Econometrics Methods, Economics of Global Climate Change, Environmental and Resource Economics and Regional Economics.

I completed my doctoral research at IIT Bombay in 2013. My dissertation focused on the “Economics of Energy Use in Indian Industries”. I received “Excellence in Ph.D. Research Award 2012-2013” at IIT Bombay. I am one of the recipients of Prof. Raghuram Rajan’s “Young Scholar Grant Programme” to attend the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) summer programme at Boston.
