I am an Associate Professor of Economics in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Madras, Chennai. My research interests include energy economics, applied microeconomics, industrial economics and the economics of global climate change. I am an affiliated researcher at the Center for Technology and Policy at IIT Madras.

Before joining the IIT Madras, I taught at the Madras School of Economics, Chennai. I completed my doctoral research at IIT Bombay in 2013. My dissertation focused on the “Economics of Energy Use in Indian Industries”. I received the “Excellence in PhD Research Award 2012-2013” at IIT Bombay. I am one of the recipients of Prof. Raghuram Rajan’s “Young Scholar Grant Programme” to attend the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) summer programme in Boston, USA.

The courses I teach at IIT Madras include Principles of Economics, Applied Economics, Energy Economics and International Economics. I taught "Urban Economics" at National Rail and Transport Institute. At Madras School of Economics, I have taught Energy Economics, Industrial Development and Industrial Organization, Multinational Enterprises and Economic Policies, Econometrics Methods, Economics of Global Climate Change, Environmental and Resource Economics and Regional Economics.
