Stochastic nonlinear dynamics | Fluid-structure interaction |Structural health monitoring
My work is in the intersection of vibration (dynamics), complexity (nonlinearity etc.,) and randomness (stochasticity).
Currently, I work on health monitoring and failure prognosis of aerospace structures, using tools from nonlinear dynamics and uncertainty quantification. My current work involves a synthesis of state space reconstruction, reservoir computing and aero-elasticity.
I also work on nonlinear dynamics of simple to intermediate complexity models, with applications in climate dynamics, ecology, physics and engineering. My work involves theoretical, computational and experimental studies. Occasionally, I work on specific product oriented applications like in vibration based energy harvesting too. I also do amateur exploration of random scientific ideas, especially when I hit upon seemingly original ideas!
Short summaries of my past research projects can be seen here.
For research admissions, vacancies, etc., one can e-mail me and start a conversation. I typically expect, from my students, a bit of curiosity and willingness to learn.
I hold degrees in Bachelor in Engineering (Civil Engineering, ACGCET Karaikudi) and Master in Technology (Structural Engineering, NIT Rourkela) and a Ph.D. (Applied Mechanics, IIT Madras). I have worked in CSIR-SERC and IISc, Bengaluru in research positions.
My research repertoire cuts across dynamics of engineered systems with stints in topics related to civil engineering, Aerospace engineering, climate dynamics and Physics.

I teach a varieties of subjects, including Mechanics of Fluids, Aerodynamics, and Aero-elasticity. Keep looking here for more updates and resources regarding the same!
