SkraxxRoster V4: More rating adjustments! Also some contract fixes. Noticed a couple potentials were higher than they should be, so that was fixed.
NEW FIX: Harsher Potentials - Noticed a struggle with last year's SkraxxRoster, where the free agency would be a bit crazy with too many players being of good overalls. It caused some really good FA to be unsigned, as the market wouldn't adjust, it is MLB The Show, not OOTP, after all. To compensate, you're going to see a whole lot less A potentials, and even middle or high Bs.
FIX: "Accurate" Free Agency for Posted Players - You will notice players that come posted from the NPB & KBO will already have 5 years of MLB service time. This is so that they do not enter the arbitration system (or even worse: renewal system) when their existing contract is up. It's to be realistic, at the sacrifice of accurate MLB service time.
UPDATE TO THIS FIX: I have given 60-day IL players that are due for free agency the extra year of service time. This is so players such as Rhys Hoskins and Ji-Man Choi properly reach free agency.
REQUEST: Player Requests - In early releases of SkraxxRoster, you will note a large amount of Joe Randoms in Free Agency. These Joe Randoms are initially to prevent the computer generating any more players when in franchise mode, but also serve as potential new slots for players! If you note a player or prospect missing, upload the player to the vault and contact me at Skraxx#9578 on Discord. I will credit you!
SkraxxRoster is a MLB The Show 23 Roster created by its namesake, Skraxx. It seeks to provide a more realistic experience in both franchise and road to the show by scaling prospects to more accurate overalls and potentials. This is done via setting the "minimum MLB-ready" overall at 75 (for non-relievers) and scaling the potentials based on that number. Should a player be no more than a bench player who can fill in occasionally? You should see that players potential around 75-79. Are they expected to be up in the majors by 2025? In MLBTS23, that means a current OVR of 61-65.
To keep some sort of balancing true to the original game, all increases and decreases in attributes are done in scales of 5. For pitchers, I often allow myself to sometimes deviate from that mark, provided I make it up through another pitcher. If I want to change a 73 overall pitcher to 75 overall, I have to take another pitcher down by 2 overall points. Otherwise, ratings changes can also be done via the MLBTS23 official attribute changes, though I don't typically find them too accurate.
