Three of our Makerspace members, Zhou Wen Bin from 6 Hope, Zan Lin from 6 Hope and Kyler Wu Kai Shun from 6 Joy, participated in the NPGC3 2024 (National Primary Games Creation and Coding Competition) organized by Wellington Primary School. We were one of the 15 teams island-wide that entered the final.
On 28 August 2024, the team, G7, won the Champion for the Best Game Award!
The game was created under the theme of ‘Greening the Red Dot: Nurturing Nature, Sustaining Future’. This is aligned to the nation’s Green Plan 2030, the nationwide movement to advance Singapore's national agenda on sustainable development, and features five key pillars:
• City in Nature,
• Sustainable Living,
• Energy Reset,
• Green Economy and
• Resilient Future.
The game featured gameplay elements that involved players in activities such as conserving energy, reducing waste, and engaging in eco-friendly practices. By using the coding program, Scratch, our team incorporated interactive visuals and animations to engage players and deliver their message engagingly and interactively.
