Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts and Science College for Women, managed by Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devasthanam and Charities, was incepted in the year 1999, to promote women’s education in Chennai.

SKPC ensure quality education for women and believe that education plays a pivotal role in the mental and intellectual nourishment and growth of them. Hence, the students are offered with many opportunities to explore their interests and investigate new ideas.

The Department of Computer Science and the Department of Computer Applications were incepted in the year 1999 and 2000 respectively.
The departments offer B.Sc., (Computer Science), M.Sc., (Computer Science) and B.C.A., courses. It consists of dedicated and enthusiastic team of staffs, who engage continuously in updating their knowledge and strive to tap the hidden talents of young minds.
The students have regular industry-institute interactions through various seminars, guest lectures and workshops, to enhance their knowledge and visualize their roles in the industry beforehand.
The students have been placed in companies like TCS, Infosys, WIPRO, Accenture etc.,

Clayton M. Christensen, a Professor of Harvard Business School, popularized the idea of Disruptive Technologies, in 1997, in his best selling book "The innovator's Dilemma".
A Disruptive Technology (DT) is the one that displaces an established technology that shakes up the industry or a ground-breaking product that creates a completely new technology.
Disruptive Technology leads to Disruptive Innovations. These innovations open up enormous opportunities for research. The pace of innovation is incredibly fast, with new things discovered daily.
Even during pandemic, the technology industry has continued to evolve with widespread implementation.
