The Research On Origins and Trajectories of Psychopathology (ROOT) Lab is dedicated to understanding the developmental pathways and risk mechanisms that contribute to the emergence and progression of various forms of psychopathology. Grounded in clinical psychological science, our work seeks to identify how biological, psychological, and social factors interact to shape mental health outcomes across the lifespan. In addition to uncovering risk and vulnerability processes, the ROOT Lab is committed to advancing prevention research. By translating empirical findings into early identification strategies and intervention approaches, we aim to inform efforts that reduce the burden of mental illness and promote resilience in at-risk populations.
