Privacy Policy for Skinory
Effective Date: September 10, 2026
Skinory: AI Skincare Routine (“Skinory”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information Skinory may collect or process, how that information is used, when information may be transmitted to third-party service providers, and the choices available to you.
Skinory provides cosmetic skincare and general wellness tools, including AI-assisted visible skin analysis, skincare routine guidance, product analysis, progress tracking, skincare diary features, and optional cloud backup.
Skinory is not a medical device. The app does not provide medical diagnoses, medical treatment, or professional dermatology advice.
1. Information You Provide
Skinory may process information that you choose to provide while using the app.
This may include your name, age, gender, skin type, sensitivity level, skincare goals, skincare concerns, product information, routine preferences, skincare diary information, product check-ins, personal notes, and other skincare-related information that you voluntarily enter.
Some information is optional and may remain stored only on your device unless you choose to use an AI feature or optional cloud backup.
2. Photos and Images
Skinory may allow you to take or select photos for features such as skin analysis, skincare product analysis, and skincare progress tracking.
These may include skin photos, face photos used for visible cosmetic skin analysis, skincare product photos, and progress photos.
Skinory does not use these photos to identify who you are or for facial identity recognition.
Photos are accessed only when you choose to use a feature that requires them and after the required operating system permissions are granted.
Photos that you originally select from your device’s photo library remain in your photo library unless you delete them yourself.
3. AI Processing and Google Gemini
Some Skinory features use artificial intelligence.
When you choose to use an AI-powered feature, Skinory may transmit information to Google Gemini, an artificial intelligence service provided by Google LLC, through Skinory’s Google Firebase backend.
Depending on the feature you use, the information sent for AI processing may include: user-selected skin or skincare-product photos; age, gender, skin type, sensitivity level, skincare goals, concerns, or other relevant skincare profile information you provided; saved product or routine context; recent skincare diary or cosmetic skin-analysis context when relevant; and questions or messages that you submit through Ask Skinory AI.
Skinory sends only information reasonably necessary to perform the AI feature you requested.
Skinory does not send information to Google Gemini for AI processing until you have been shown the AI processing disclosure and explicitly choose Allow AI Processing.
If you choose Not Now, the AI request will not be sent.
You may later revoke your AI-processing permission from:
Settings → Privacy & Data → Revoke AI-processing permission
After permission is revoked, Skinory will require your consent again before another AI request containing your personal information is transmitted for AI processing.
Google may process information submitted to its services according to the applicable Google service terms, privacy terms, data-processing terms, and service configuration used by Skinory.
We require third-party service providers that process personal information on our behalf to provide privacy and security protections consistent with applicable law and appropriate to the nature of the information being processed.
4. Google Firebase
Skinory uses services provided by Google Firebase.
Firebase may be used for app functionality including authentication, cloud data storage, file storage, backend API services, security and abuse prevention, App Check, and optional cloud backup.
When these features are used, Firebase may process information such as account email addresses, authentication information, application data selected for cloud backup, uploaded skincare images, AI usage information, security or App Check tokens, and technical request information necessary to provide and protect the service.
Skinory does not sell Firebase account or skincare information to advertisers.
5. Optional Cloud Backup
Cloud backup is optional.
If you choose to create a Skinory cloud account, Skinory may store supported application data under your account using Google Firebase services.
Depending on the features you have used, a cloud backup may include your skincare profile, routines, saved skincare products, product tracking information, challenge progress, AI analysis history, Ask Skinory conversation history, skincare diary information, progress information, and skincare images that you choose to back up.
You do not need to use cloud backup to use the core local features of Skinory.
6. Account Information
If you create a Skinory cloud account, Skinory may collect your email address for authentication and account management.
Authentication is provided using Google Firebase Authentication.
Passwords are handled through the authentication service and are not intended to be stored by Skinory as readable plain text.
7. Ask Skinory AI
When you use Ask Skinory AI, the question you enter and relevant skincare context may be sent to Skinory’s Firebase backend and Google Gemini to generate the requested response.
Relevant context may include saved product information, skincare routine information, recent skin observations, skincare diary context, or other information needed to answer your question.
Skinory AI responses are intended for general cosmetic skincare and wellness purposes only.
They are not medical diagnoses or treatment recommendations.
8. Product Analysis
When you submit a skincare product image for AI analysis, the image and relevant skincare profile context may be transmitted to Skinory’s Firebase backend and Google Gemini after you have consented to AI processing.
The AI may attempt to identify product information, cosmetic ingredients, possible cosmetic benefits, cautions, and suggested placement within a skincare routine.
AI-generated product information may be incomplete or inaccurate. Users should verify product packaging and manufacturer instructions before relying on product information.
9. Barcode Scanning and Open Beauty Facts
Skinory may provide a barcode lookup feature for cosmetic products.
When you choose to look up a product barcode, the barcode number may be sent to the Open Beauty Facts service in order to retrieve available cosmetic product information.
Information provided by Open Beauty Facts may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Users should verify product packaging and official manufacturer information.
10. How We Use Information
Skinory uses information to provide the features you request, create and personalize skincare routines, perform AI-powered cosmetic skin or product analysis, answer Ask Skinory AI questions, maintain skincare diaries and progress reports, track product experiences and routine adherence, provide optional cloud backup and restoration, maintain security and prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve application reliability.
Skinory does not use your skin photos for identity recognition.
Skinory does not sell your personal information to advertisers.
11. AI Consent
AI processing is optional.
Before Skinory sends personal information to Google Gemini for the first time, the app provides a disclosure explaining what information may be sent, who receives the information, and why the information is required.
The information is transmitted only after you explicitly approve AI processing.
You may revoke your permission at any time from Skinory’s Privacy & Data settings.
Revoking permission prevents new AI requests containing your personal information from being sent until permission is granted again.
12. Data Stored on Your Device
Some Skinory data may be stored locally on your device.
Local data may include your skincare profile, routine, products, diary entries, progress information, challenge progress, AI results, preferences, and other application information.
You can remove local Skinory data using the data controls available inside the application.
Removing the app may also remove locally stored application data, subject to the behavior of your operating system and any cloud backup you have created.
13. Data Retention
Local application data generally remains on your device until you remove it, reset Skinory data, or uninstall the application.
Data stored through optional Skinory cloud features may remain associated with your account until you delete that data or delete your Skinory cloud account.
Information transmitted to third-party service providers may be retained according to the applicable service terms, data-processing terms, security requirements, and configuration of those services.
We aim to retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, meet security requirements, resolve disputes, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
14. Deleting Your Data
Skinory provides controls for managing your data.
From Settings → Privacy & Data, you may clear locally stored AI history, revoke AI-processing permission, reset local Skinory data, and, when signed in to a supported cloud account, request deletion of Skinory cloud data and the associated Skinory Firebase account.
Deleting Skinory data does not delete original photos that you selected from your personal device photo library.
Those original photos remain under your control in your device’s photo library.
15. Data Security
Skinory uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.
Network communications with Skinory backend services are intended to use encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
Firebase authentication, security rules, App Check, and other security mechanisms may also be used to help protect application data and restrict unauthorized access.
No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
16. Third-Party Service Providers
Skinory currently relies on third-party services that may process information when you choose to use related functionality.
These include Google LLC, including Google Firebase and Google Gemini, for authentication, backend infrastructure, cloud storage, security, AI processing, and related application functionality; and Open Beauty Facts for optional cosmetic barcode lookup.
These third parties operate under their own applicable privacy policies, terms, security practices, and data-processing terms.

17. Medical and Skincare Disclaimer
Skinory is intended for cosmetic skincare and general wellness purposes.
AI analysis may describe visible cosmetic characteristics such as apparent hydration, oiliness, visible redness, texture appearance, tone appearance, or visible spots.
These observations are AI-generated estimates based on submitted images and are not clinical measurements.
Skinory does not diagnose skin diseases or medical conditions and does not provide medical treatment recommendations.
If you experience persistent irritation, severe acne, pain, infection, unusual skin changes, allergic reactions, or other medical concerns, you should consult a qualified healthcare professional or dermatologist.
18. Children’s Privacy
Skinory is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, please contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete the information.
19. International Data Processing
Third-party service providers used by Skinory may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards and applicable service-provider data protection terms for such processing.
20. Your Privacy Choices
You control whether to use AI-powered features, whether to provide photos, whether to create a cloud account, and whether to use optional cloud backup.
You may also revoke AI-processing permission and use Skinory’s data-management controls.
You may contact us regarding access, correction, or deletion requests relating to personal information associated with Skinory where applicable.
21. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Skinory features, service providers, legal requirements, or privacy practices change.
When material changes are made, the updated policy will show a revised effective date.
Continued use of Skinory after an updated policy becomes effective is subject to the updated policy and applicable law.
