SkinMatch Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
SkinMatch ("the app") is operated by Joshua Green ("we", "us"). This policy
explains what data the app handles and how.
Photos you scan
When you scan your face or a product, the photo is transmitted securely
(encrypted in transit) to our analysis service, where it is processed by an
AI model to produce cosmetic observations. Photos are processed for analysis
and are not stored on our servers after the analysis completes. We do not
build a database of user photos and we do not use your photos to train AI
models.
Data stored on your device
Your skin profile, scan history, glow scores, and free scan count are stored
locally on your device only. You can delete all of it at any time in the app
under Profile, Privacy & data, Delete my data, or by deleting the app.
Subscriptions and purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage
subscription status. We receive an anonymous identifier and purchase status,
never your payment details. See Apple's privacy policy and RevenueCat's
privacy policy for details on their handling.
Analysis service
Photo analysis is performed via our secure server function and an AI
provider (Anthropic). Images are handled under their commercial API terms,
which do not permit training on customer data by default.
What we do not collect
We do not require an account. We do not collect your name, email, contacts,
or location. We do not sell data. The app does not show third party ads.
Not medical advice
SkinMatch provides cosmetic analysis only. It does not diagnose, treat, or
prevent any condition. For skin concerns, consult a dermatologist.
Children
SkinMatch is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly
process their data.
Changes
Advertising Measurement and Attribution
SkinMatch uses Meta and RevenueCat to measure app installations, subscriptions, purchases, trials, renewals, and general app interactions. These services may process device identifiers, including IDFA when App Tracking Transparency permission is granted, IDFV, an anonymous Meta identifier, purchase information, subscription status, and app-activation events.
This information is used for analytics, subscription management, advertising attribution, and measuring the effectiveness of SkinMatch advertising campaigns. SkinMatch does not use the Meta SDK to automatically report purchase revenue; RevenueCat is the designated purchase and subscription reporting provider.
On iOS, SkinMatch requests permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework before accessing the advertising identifier. Users may deny permission or change their selection through iOS Settings at any time. When permission is denied, the advertising identifier is unavailable.
Meta and RevenueCat process information according to their respective privacy policies:
We will update this page if our practices change. Continued use of the app
after changes means you accept the updated policy.
