PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING PRIVACY POLICY CAREFULLY. WHEN YOU USE THE APP YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS PRIVACY POLICY.

**I. Introduction**

The developer of Skin AI – Skincare Scanner ("we," "us," or "our") takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains our data protection practices and describes the types of information we may process when you install and/or use the Skin AI – Skincare Scanner mobile application (the "App").

When we refer to personal data (or personal information) we mean any information relating to a natural person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to such data.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the App regardless of where they are located.

**II. Information We Process**

*Functional Information*

The following information is necessary for the adequate performance of the App's core features. Without it, the App cannot provide the requested services.

• Your display name, entered during onboarding and stored locally on your device.

• Your skin type selection, stored locally on your device to personalise ingredient warnings.

• Your scanned product history and favourites, stored locally on your device.

• Your skincare routine, stored locally on your device.

• App usage counters (e.g. AI scan count), stored locally on your device.

• Subscription and purchase status, managed by Apple and mirrored locally on your device.

• Skincare routine reminder times you configure (hour and minute only), stored locally on your device and used solely to schedule local notifications.

All of the above is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal information.

*Notifications and Reminders*

The App offers an optional daily reminder feature that schedules local notifications on your device to remind you to apply products in your skincare routine. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device by the iOS notification system — no notification data, reminder times, or personal information is transmitted to our servers or any third party.

To use this feature, the App will request your permission to send notifications. You may grant or deny this permission at any time. If you later wish to disable reminders, you can do so in Settings → Notifications → Skin AI – Skincare Scanner on your device, or by removing individual reminders directly within the App.

*Camera and Photo Access*

After you grant us the relevant permission, the App accesses your device camera to capture product photos for barcode scanning and AI ingredient analysis. We do not collect, store, or use any images from your camera roll unless you explicitly use them within the App.

When you use AI Photo Scan, the captured image of the product label is transmitted to Google LLC (Google Gemini API) for automated ingredient recognition. The image is used solely for this single analysis request and is not stored by us. Please ensure that photos you use for scanning do not contain personally identifiable information.

*Barcode Data*

When you scan a product barcode, the barcode value is sent to the Open Beauty Facts public API to retrieve publicly available product and ingredient information. No personal data is included in or linked to this request.

*Contact Information*

If you contact us by email or through a support form, we will collect your name, email address, and any content you include in your message, solely to respond to your inquiry and fulfill your request.

**III. Purposes of Processing**

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

• To provide and operate the App's core features (scanning, history, routine, ingredient analysis).

• To personalise your experience based on your skin type and preferences.

• To deliver local daily reminders for products in your skincare routine, if you have enabled this feature and granted notification permission.

• To improve and maintain the App's performance and stability.

• To verify your subscription status and enforce usage limits.

• To respond to your support inquiries and communications.

We do not use your information for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any purpose beyond those listed above.

**IV. Sharing of Your Information**

We will not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We share information with third parties only as described below and only to the extent necessary to provide the App's services.

We engage the following third-party service providers:

• Google LLC (Gemini API)

Purpose: AI-powered ingredient analysis from product photos

Location: U.S.A.

Policy: policies.google.com/privacy

• Open Beauty Facts

Purpose: Public cosmetics product & ingredient database for barcode lookups

Location: France

Policy: world.openbeautyfacts.org/terms-of-use

• Apple Inc.

Purpose: In-App Purchase subscription processing and management

Location: U.S.A.

Policy: apple.com/legal/privacy

We may also disclose your personal information if required by law, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, or respond to a governmental request.

**V. Data Storage and Retention**

All user-generated data (display name, skin type, scan history, routine, settings) is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's secure local storage. We do not transmit this data to our own servers.

We retain your data for as long as you use the App. You can delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the App. If you contact us by email, we retain your correspondence for the time reasonably necessary to resolve your inquiry, after which it is deleted.

**VI. Security**

The security of your information is important to us. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. All data stored locally on your device benefits from the security protections built into Apple's iOS platform.

Product label images transmitted to Google Gemini are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of electronic transmission is 100% secure; however, we make every reasonable effort to protect your data. If you have any security concerns, please contact us at skincareaiapp1@gmail.com.

**VII. Children's Privacy**

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you reasonably believe that a child has provided personal information through the App without verifiable parental consent, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information as quickly as possible.

**VIII. Your Privacy Rights**

Because all personal data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You may exercise the following rights:

• Right to Access — you can view all data the App holds about you directly within the App.

• Right to Correct Inaccuracies — you can edit your display name and skin type at any time from the App settings.

• Right to Deletion — you can delete your scanned product history from the Products screen, remove routine reminders directly within the App, or remove all data permanently by uninstalling the App.

• Right to Opt Out of Notifications — you can revoke notification permission at any time via Settings → Notifications → Skin AI – Skincare Scanner on your device. This does not affect any other App functionality.

• Right to Data Portability — your data is stored in open formats on your device and is accessible to you at any time.

For data processed by third-party services (Google, Apple, Open Beauty Facts), please refer to their respective privacy policies listed in Section IV. Any data access or deletion requests relating to those services must be directed to them directly.

**IX. How to Opt Out of Device Tracking**

The App does not perform behavioural tracking or serve targeted advertisements. If you wish to limit any system-level tracking on your iOS device:

• Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track."

• Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising and disable "Personalised Ads."

**X. Subscriptions and Purchases**

Skin AI – Skincare Scanner Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription processed entirely through Apple's App Store. Apple is responsible for billing, charging, and securing your payment information. We never receive or store your payment card details. We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status.

You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.

**XI. International Data Transfers**

When you use the AI Photo Scan feature, the product label image is transmitted to Google LLC servers which may be located outside your country of residence. By using this feature you consent to the transfer of that data to Google LLC in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

Barcode lookups are transmitted to Open Beauty Facts servers located in France, in accordance with their terms of use.

**XII. Changes to This Privacy Policy**

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
