Research
We are interested in molecular inorganic chemistry including:
synthesis and catalysis
in coordination chemistry, organometallic chemistry, main group chemistry and photochemistry.
Our research group aims to develop novel types of chemical bonds, particularly those involving multiple centers.
To realize these bonding modes, we begin with the fundamental design of bonding motifs using molecular approaches, grounded in core principles of inorganic chemistry, and complement this with the synthesis of targeted compounds.
We draw on a wide range of elements across the periodic table — including both main-group and transition metals — without being restricted to specific element families.
Furthermore, we aim to leverage these new bonding motifs for diverse applications, ranging from catalysis (spanning both inorganic and organic transformations) to materials science (including polymers and multidimensional materials), and beyond.
