Welcome to the Sangmin Kim group at SNU!
We aim to solve various challenges in molecular inorganic chemistry.
Our research group aims to develop novel types of chemical bonds, particularly those involving multiple centers. To realize these bonding modes, we begin with the fundamental design of bonding motifs using molecular approaches, grounded in core principles of inorganic chemistry, and complement this with the synthesis of targeted compounds. We draw on a wide range of elements across the periodic table — including both main-group and transition metals — without being restricted to specific element families. Furthermore, we aim to leverage these new bonding motifs for diverse applications, ranging from catalysis (spanning both inorganic and organic transformations) to materials science (including polymers and multidimensional materials), and beyond.
If you are interested in joining our lab, please feel free to email Sangmin (sangmin.kim at snu.ac.kr).
We are currently NOT ACCEPTING applications for any positions,
including graduate students, postdocs, and undergrad interns.
