Sunghee Kim is a distinguished organist, pianist, choral conductor, and educator with over 25 years of experience in performance and music education. Now based in Everett, WA, she serves as the organist at Edmonds United Methodist Church, where her inspiring performances and dedication enrich the community.
As a dedicated music educator, Sunghee takes great joy in guiding students to discover the pleasure of learning and performing music while nurturing their creativity. Her lifelong passion is to support students of all ages in developing their skills, enhancing their musicality, and expressing their creativity. For Sunghee, teaching music extends beyond imparting technical expertise—it’s about fostering meaningful connections between individuals and the world around them through music.
Sunghee’s academic and professional achievements reflect her commitment to excellence. She previously served as Assistant Professor of Organ and Director of Chapel Music at Valparaiso University and as a faculty member at the Pennsylvania State University, Abington. She earned her Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University and a Master’s degree from the University of North Texas. In her free time, Sunghee finds joy in immersing herself in nature, often taking peaceful walks with her spouse and their dog. She also has a deep passion for drawing and painting, which serve as creative outlets and ways to express her inner world.
