These connect sessions bring CTE teachers and students together to strengthen our CAVA SkillsUSA chapter through mentorship and development. We will assist you with prepping for upcoming competitions (such as regional competitions) and conferences, guide building your résumé, and grow a supportive network to boost your entry into a real-world career pathway. SkillsUSA advisors will also be on hand to guide you and support your growth as a SkillsUSA member and as a CTE student gearing up for future opportunities.

Are you interested in representing Career and College Prep @ CAVA at the SkillsUSA state competitions or representing our chapter as an official delegate member at the State Leadership & Skills Conference (SLSC)? This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our and gain high-level leadership experience.

Here are a few things to note:
We have limited spots (we can only send 10 members, which includes our regional competition winners).
Students' chaperone must provide transportation to Ontario, CA, and meals.
The school covers hotel and event registrations.Â
Students will need a signed permission slip.
Students are required to have a red SkillsUSA blazer. If you do not already have one, CAVA will place an order for you. Please complete this order form if you are attending SLSC and need a blazer.Â
Students will need to commit their own time to actively participate during the conference, particularly to vote during the state meeting and elections one afternoon or volunteer for the Courtesy Corp.

Monday â Paper Plate Awards
Kick off SkillsUSA Week by voting in our Paper Plate Awards! Use the Google Form linked in MS Teams to vote for fun âmost likely toâ awards celebrating our members.
Tuesday (CEC) â Shout Out Tuesday
Use the Padlet link to shout out CTE teachers, students, chapter members, leadership, or committees. Letâs recognize the people who help make our CTE programs and SkillsUSA chapter successful.
Wednesday (AMC)â Spotlight Stories
Share a short reflection on a skill youâre proud of or what SkillsUSA means to you. Post your Spotlight Story in MS Teams and celebrate growth, effort, and achievement.
Thursday (FMC) â Think Big Thursday
Watch the Career & College Prep video and explore the SkillsUSA Framework to learn about CTE pathways. The Financial Management Committee will host a session to share CTE information and answer questions.
Friday (PAEC) â LinkedIn Friday
The Partner and Alumni Engagement Committee will help seniors create or improve their LinkedIn profiles for career success. The goal is to follow three dream companies theyâd love to work for in the future.
