Examining means encouraging – with eyes, heart and experience
A dan examination is not just a test, but a moment of learning. As a jury, we have a responsibility to examine with a keen eye, a fair attitude and respect. Examining correctly means perceiving technique and spirit in equal measure – and giving every candidate the chance to show their true kendo.
