Dr. Maiti did his Ph.D., on 'Physico-chemical investigation on the soils of vannamei shrimp farming areas of contai, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, with reference to crop productivity and impact on food security'. He is currenty working as HM of Hirapur Dasagram High School and Chairman of Biodiversity mangement committee of Ramnagar-I .He contributes to a better understanding of marine biodiversity and coastal ecosystem management of Digha coast.
