About Me

The Sketchbook Experience

I have always had a love for fashion and all types of design and illustration. I graduated from Marist College with a degree in Fashion Design. I went on to work in NYC as a handbag designer for over 10 years. I was lucky enough to work on some amazing brands like Beyonce's line House of Dereon, XOXO, Twiggy for HSN, and Cynthia Rowley. I then ventured out and started my own fashion company with my best friend from college. We opened a little shop/studio on Washington St. in Hoboken , NJ. We specialized in party and bridesmaid's dresses. We did everything ourselves from sketches to draping and pattern making to sewing the final garments. We sold our dresses to bridesmaid's shops across the country.

As time went on, I got married and started a family so priorities changed. I received my teaching certification and started taking my experiences to the classroom. I have been teaching fashion and interior design since 2012 in local high schools, and love it!

I started Sketchbook as a way to continue my love for design and illustration and bring it to kids who also love to design and draw. My classes are for a broad range of ages and are geared towards learning proper design techniques. We focus on drawing, rendering, presentation, and terminology, but most importantly we have fun!! I just want a place where kids can be inspired, explore their creativity, and be amazed at what they can do.
