The Skeletal System



Hey 3rd graders!

Our names are Paige and Tara, and we get to teach you about a pretty cool part of your body. Follow the steps to learn a little about the skeletal system, read an original story, and even do some fun crafts and activities at the end!



JOKE: What do you call a skeleton who won't work?

-- Lazy bones!



JOKE: Why did the skeleton laugh?

-- Because someone tickled its funny bone!


STEP 1: WATCH THE VIDEO

Watch this quick video to learn a little bit about the skeletal system, plus some fun facts!


STEP 2: READ A FUN STORY

Tara is now going to read a story about a little kid who broke a bone. Guess what? She even wrote it herself!


STEP 3: ACTIVITY TIME!

Finally, Paige will show you how to do some fun crafts and activities! To get ready, gather the MATERIALS listed below:

Q-tip Skeleton

You will need:

  • scissors

  • a glue stick

  • a black and white crayon

  • 10 Q-tips

  • black construction paper

(**note: if you don't have black paper, color a white piece black!)

Skeleton Connect-the dots

You will need:

  • a pencil/pen

  • click on the link below and print!

Pasta Spine

You will need:

  • 8-10 pieces of pasta, ANY KIND WITH HOLES

  • same number of gummy lifesavers

  • about 2 ft. of string

  • 2 paper clips
