Karthik S is currently pursuing his Ph.D. as a Research Scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, Kerala, India. Prior to joining IIT Palakkad, he served as a Project Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy), Tamil Nadu, India.
He received his Master’s degree in Engineering Design from Anna University, Chennai, in 2019 and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2014.
His research interests include Mechanical Vibration, Rotating Machinery Dynamics, Condition Monitoring, Fatigue Failure Analysis, Structural Health Monitoring, Signal Processing, and Composite Materials. His current research focuses on the condition monitoring and fatigue life assessment of rotating machinery through vibration-based diagnostic techniques and advanced signal processing methods. His work aims to identify early-stage faults, assess structural integrity, and predict the remaining useful life of critical machine components operating under dynamic loading conditions.
He actively combines experimental investigations, vibration analysis, and data-driven approaches to develop reliable methodologies for fault diagnosis, prognostics, and maintenance planning in industrial rotating systems. His research contributes to improving the safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of engineering systems through advanced condition monitoring and predictive maintenance strategies.
