This Privacy Policy explains how SKAAE Apps ("Service Provider," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the SKAAE Pdf Scanner application, displayed on your device as "Pdf Scanner", with Google Play package ID com.skaaeapps.pdfscanner (the "Application").
The Application is a document scanner, and protecting your documents is a core part of how it works.
Everything you scan, import, or create using the Application—including PDF files, page images, thumbnails, document names, page counts, folders, and text recognized from your documents—is stored only in the Application's private storage on your device.
The Application does not require an account or sign-in. Your documents are not uploaded to our servers, and there is no cloud synchronization service operated by the Service Provider for your documents.
The Service Provider does not operate a server that receives your documents and therefore does not hold copies of them.
Saved signatures are additionally excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.
When you uninstall the Application, its locally stored data is removed from your device.
The Application performs the following processing directly on your device using Google ML Kit:
Document edge detection and cropping
Optical character recognition (OCR)
Barcode and QR-code decoding
ID-photo background removal
The images used for these features are not transmitted to a remote server for processing.
The Photo Translation feature requires a translation language pack to be downloaded from Google the first time a particular language is used.
The text being translated is not sent to a remote service. The required language model is downloaded to your device and translation is performed locally.
The Application may request the following permissions or access:
The camera is used only while you are actively scanning a document or reading a QR code or barcode.
The Application does not access the camera at other times, and photos or videos captured through the Application are not transmitted to the Service Provider.
On Android 13 and later, notification permission may be requested so the Application can inform you that a long-running operation you started has completed or failed.
The Application does not use notifications for promotional, re-engagement, or "we miss you" messages.
Internet access is required for:
Advertising
Anonymous or pseudonymous usage analytics
Downloading translation language packs
The Application's advertising SDK may declare and use Android's Advertising ID for advertising purposes as described in this Privacy Policy.
The Application does not request access to your entire photo library or general device storage.
When you import a photo or file, Android's system file or photo picker provides the Application with access only to the specific item you select.
The Application collects certain information when you download and use it. This information may include:
Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, from which an approximate country or region may be derived
The screens of the Application that you visit
The date and time of your visits
The amount of time spent on individual screens and in the Application
Your mobile operating system and version
Your device model
Your Application version
Your advertising identifier
Your interactions with advertisements displayed in the Application
Usage events recorded by the Application do not contain:
Document names
File paths
Any portion of a scanned document
Text recognized from a document
The text of anything you search for
For searches performed within the Application, analytics record only the number of characters typed and the number of results returned.
The Application does not ask you to provide or collect:
Your name
Email address
Phone number
Other directly identifying personal information
There is no registration or user profile.
The Application does not use browser cookies.
The Application does use third-party software development kits (SDKs) that may use device identifiers, advertising identifiers, and similar technologies to provide functionality, advertising, analytics, and related services.
Where required by applicable law, the Service Provider obtains your consent before using non-essential tracking technologies.
The Application displays advertisements supplied by Google AdMob.
For advertising purposes, Google may collect and use information such as:
Advertising identifier
IP-derived approximate location
Device information
Application information
Interactions with advertisements
This information may be used to select advertisements, limit repetitive advertisements, measure advertising performance, and detect or prevent fraud.
Your document content, document names, and recognized document text are never used to select advertisements.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the Application presents a Google-certified consent form when the Application first runs and before an advertisement is requested.
Through this form, you can choose whether advertising may be personalized.
You can change your advertising consent choice at any time through:
Settings → Ad privacy options
If a consent choice cannot be determined, the Application treats this as an absence of consent and does not request advertisements.
You can reset or delete your advertising identifier or opt out of advertising personalization across your device through:
Android Settings → Google → Ads
The Application uses third-party services that have their own privacy policies governing how they handle information.
The third-party services used by the Application include:
Google Play Services — https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google AdMob, including Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising consent — https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Google Analytics for Firebase — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Google ML Kit for on-device scanning, OCR, barcode decoding, segmentation, and translation models — https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms
Google Play In-App Review — https://policies.google.com/privacy
The Application does not integrate any other advertising, analytics, attribution, crash-reporting, or social-network SDKs beyond those listed above.
Firebase Cloud Messaging registers a token identifying the installation of the Application so that a notification can reach that installation.
This token identifies the Application installation and does not directly identify you.
Information transmitted to the third-party services listed above is limited to the information described in the Information We Collect section.
Some identifiers, including the advertising identifier and Firebase installation identifier, are pseudonymous rather than anonymous. This means they do not directly name you but may be associated with your device until they are reset.

The Service Provider and its third-party service providers retain information according to the following principles:

The Application is not intended for children under 16 years of age, or any higher age required by applicable law.
The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit personal information from children or market the Application to children.
The Application contains advertising and is intended for a general audience.
Where parental or guardian consent is required by applicable law, the Application is not intended for use without such consent.
If the Service Provider becomes aware that personal information has been collected from a child contrary to applicable law, it will take appropriate steps to delete that information and, where applicable, request its deletion from the relevant third-party services.
Parents or guardians who believe that their child has provided personal information may contact:

The Service Provider takes reasonable electronic and procedural measures to safeguard the information it processes.
Your documents remain in the Application's private storage on your device, which other applications cannot normally access.
Information transmitted to the third-party services described in this Privacy Policy is sent over encrypted connections.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated Privacy Policy with a new effective date. Where required by law, the Service Provider will obtain your consent before material changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Application after an updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Where processing is based on consent, you provide consent by affirmatively opting in to the relevant feature or action, including through the advertising consent form described in this Privacy Policy.
You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
Processing based on other lawful bases will continue as described in this Privacy Policy.
