SK Day 

at Washington University in St. Louis

The annual Sonia Kovalevsky Day at Washington University in St. Louis for Middle School Girls honors the first woman to receive a doctorate in mathematics and encourages young women to continue their study of mathematics. Teachers and students from local middle schools are invited to attend.

Who Can Attend?

This event is designed for chaperoned groups of middle school girls (6th, 7th, and 8th grade) from schools or organizations. Individual students are not eligible to attend. 


There is NO COST to attend. Lunch will be provided for all participants. Chaperones must register their group using the link below. 

Travel/Bus funds are available for schools with hardship; complete registration for more details.

Activities

Invited Speaker: Cornelia Van Cott, PhD

The 2024 SK Day will include a lecture by Cornelia Van Cott, Professor of Mathematics at University of San Francisco.
