The school was established in the year 1921 as a Government School. Later, to promote education among girls, it was upgraded to a Government Middle School (Girls) in 1957. In 1972, it was granted the status of a Government High School. In 2002, the school was further upgraded and accorded the status of a Government Senior Secondary School. Subsequently, in the year 2022, the school was honoured with the status of "Swaran Jayanti Utkrisht Vidhyalaya". Now, in the year of November, 2025, this school has been converted to Central Board of School Education (CBSE) vide GoHP, Department of School Education letter No: EDN-B-A(1)-1/2025, dated 25-09-2025. After affiliation to CBSE, the school aims to provide quality, holistic, and learner-centered education in line with national standards. The school’s future goal is to strengthen conceptual learning, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students. Emphasis will be laid on skill-based education, experiential learning, and integration of technology in teaching–learning processes.

Modern evaluation systems under the CCE scheme have moved beyond conventional pen-and-paper tests, with formative assessments conducted through innovative and non-traditional methods, offering ample opportunities for holistic personality development.
