Library Week Celebrations (14th November to 20th November)
Library week celebration is a boost to promote the reading habits among the students. Andhra Pradesh Library Association organised an All India Library Meeting in 12 November 1912 in Madras. This meeting lead to the forming of Indian Library Association. Later ILA declared 14 November as National Library Day.
In 1954, a nonprofit National Book Committee was established between the ALA and the American Book Publishers. In 1957, the committee developed the idea for National Library Week, hoping that it would motivate people to read and support libraries.
