Past student Janine Salina nee Ambrose

has been in the field of Management and Human Resources for the past 20 years.

She started at the Point Lisas Industrial Estate as an HR Professional at Industrial Plant Services Limited (IPSL), moving on thereafter to become The Group HR Manager for the Rahael Group Of Companies (RHL) working closely with the owners to assist with the growth and transformation of that company.

Having spent 3 years with Rahael Holdings Limited Janine subsequently moved onto BP as an HR Manager Rewards eventually working her way to becoming the VICE PRESIDENT for HUMAN RESOURCES BP TRINIDAD & TOBAGO.

She was one of the youngest persons to attain such a position and one of only three females then on the BPTT Leadership Team, advising both previous Chairmen and CEOs Robert Riley and Norman Christie.

She and her team won many awards and represented Trinidad in London at various meetings where she had to facilitate presentations and speeches.

Because of her excellent work as the VICE PRESIDENT BP TRINIDAD, BP GLOBAL soon came calling and offered a Promotion to the Position of HR DIRECTOR for the Western Hemisphere and Angola and in 2012 Janine and her family moved to Houston, Texas, to work at the BP US Head Office Mega Campus. This position afforded her a chance to work in a global space as a true global Executive, travelling to many different countries from Abu Dhabi to Azerbaijan to Alaska to area across Europe.

As a Senior Executive she was able to work with and support many of the BP's GLOBAL Leaders which gave her an appreciation and understanding of how A Fortune 500 Mega Corporation operates. Again, she was one of only a handful of non - US/English Nationals in this position and one of only 3 Trinidadians working in HR at that level.

After Five years at BP USA, head hunters came calling again and she felt like it was time for a change not only of Corporation but also location.

With the input of her husband Yuri and children she was able to narrow the choices of new job opportunities between Colorado, Los Angelas, France, Holland and Virginia Beach, eventually choosing Virginia Beach.

She joined the Executive Leadership Team at German based Corporation BUSCH LLC as VP OF HUMAN RESOURCES USA of which there are locations within 9 States from Portland to Houston and including Puerto Rico.

BUSCH LLC is another Global Co. with Locations in 40 countries , the US arm of the Corporation is the largest business unit in the group.

This new “Adventure” has opened up new challenges and opportunities but they are always welcome as growth is one of life’s rewards.

Being one of 2 Females and the only Minority on the Executive Leadership Team of 13 has afforded her the opportunity to directly understand how to truly Manage a US business as she works directly with the CEO and other leaders.

She has held the delegation of the CEO and managed to become a valuable and proud member of the team.
