Yuvadeepti - SMYM

Yuvadeepti - SMYM is the youth apostalate of the Archeparchy of Changanacherry. Yuvadeepti is a part of KCYM - Kerala Catholic Youth Movement, which is affiliated to ICYM - Indian Catholic Youth Movement. As the name suggests Yuvadeepti is national wide catholic youth organisation which is aiming at the integral development of every youth. The word "Yuvadeepti" comes from two words "Yuva" & "Deepthi". "Yuva" means youth and "Deepthi" means light. Therefore Yuvadeepthi is to give the light of Jesus to our youth!

The Youth Apostolate -YUVADEEPTI- of the Archeparchy of Changanacherry was established on 3rd December 1972. The founder of this Organization is His Grace Mar Joseph Powathil and the movement was inaugurated by Mar. Antony Padiyara at Kallarackal HalI, S. B.College Changanacherry. The main aim of the movement is to enlighten the world in Christ, the Light of The World. Its motto is: Change the world through your parish. The means to achieve this goal are prayer, study, formation, action and reformation.

Cherupushpa Mission League

The Cherupushpa Mission League is an indigenous lay missionary organization, established on 3rd October 1947 at Bharananganam, in the diocese of Palai (Then diocese of Changanacherry) Kerala, S. India. Bharananganam is a pilgrim centre, where pilgrims from all over India, come in flocks to pray at the tomb of St. Sr. Alphonsa.

Vincent De Paul

The Society of St Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic voluntary organization dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing direct practical assistance to anyone in need, addressing social and material needs in all its many forms. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833 to help impoverished people living in the slums of Paris, France. The primary figure behind the society's founding was Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, a French lawyer.

The Society took Saint Vincent de Paul as its patron under the influence of Sister Rosalie Rendu, D.C. Sister Rosalie (who was herself beatified in November 1999 by Pope John Paul II) was a member of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, and was well known for her work with people in the slums of Paris. She guided Frédéric and his companions in their approach towards those in need.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is part of the Vincentian Family which also includes the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentian priests and brothers, also founded by St. Vincent de Paul), Daughters of Charity, Ladies of Charity (organization of lay women who help the poor, founded by St. Vincent de Paul), Sisters of Charity in the Setonian tradition, and several others, including some religious groups that are part of the Anglican Communion, like the Company of Mission Priests. CHANGANACHERRY SOCIAL SERVICE SOCIETY (CHASS) is the official organ of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry for social concerns and development interventions addressing the weaker sections of the society irrespective of caste, creed or community. Besides the officialdom in the Archdiocesan setup, the Society has been granted NGO status under the charitable provisions of the Government Act (Travancore- Cochin Literary, Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act XII of 1955). Founded in the year 1966, the Society has always remained as a pioneering organization all the while in social innovations and research based rural development services.

The Society has a democratic set up having its General Body constituted of village representatives, parish priests, subject experts, and specially nominated persons by the chairman Archbishop. In this respect, the Society is built upon a substantial people’s organizational base at the village level; the important among them are Village Development

Councils (Local Social Service Units), Mahilasamajams, Credit Unions, Self-Help Groups and Farmers Clubs. The Society has got a large operational area in the south and south central parts of Kerala, spread over 5 civil districts. Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. The operational area is divided into 15 regions consisting of 148 local units for effective management and active involvement.
