Our Purpose & Role 

The Prefect Board of St. Joseph’s College exists to lead, guide, and serve the student community. Our primary purpose is to uphold the values, discipline, and traditions that define our school while acting as positive role models for all students.

As prefects, we play a key role in:

• Maintaining discipline and setting high standards of behavior
  
  

• Supporting teachers and school staff in daily operations
  
  

• Organizing and leading school events, assemblies, and ceremonies
  
  

• Assisting in mentoring younger students and promoting unity
  
  

• Representing the voice of the student body

Team Overview 

The Prefect Board of St. Joseph’s College is a united team of student leaders entrusted with upholding school discipline, guiding students, and representing the values of leadership and service.

At the core of the board is our Top Board, supported by Senior Prefects, Junior Prefects, and Primary Prefects, all working together to maintain the smooth flow of student life across the school.

Structure of the Prefect Board 

Top Board

Our Top Board consists of five senior prefects who provide strategic leadership and coordination across the board:

• Head Prefect (HP) – Leads the entire prefect board and represents the student body at school events and official functions.
  
  

• Deputy Head Prefects (2 DHPs) – Support the Head Prefect in leadership responsibilities and oversee the broader team.
  
  

• Secretary – Handles internal communication, meeting records, schedules, and planning.
  
  

• Treasurer – Manages the financial aspects of prefect-led events and projects with responsibility and transparency.
  
  

Senior Prefects

Senior Prefects carry out key responsibilities such as managing discipline duties, assisting in school events, and mentoring younger prefects. They are role models for the rest of the board and ensure smooth day-to-day leadership across school premises.

Junior Prefects

Junior Prefects are emerging student leaders who support the senior team in their duties while developing their own leadership skills. They assist during events, maintain discipline in classes, and learn the values of responsible leadership.

Primary Prefects

The Primary Prefects represent the youngest leadership team, helping to guide students in the primary section. They maintain discipline, assist teachers, and begin their leadership journey through service and example.
