I am currently an associate professor of economics at College of Business, Law and Governance, James Cook University. I hold PhD in Economics from the Australian National University, Australia, Master in Economics from Xiamen University, China, and Bachelor of Arts from Jilin University of Technology, China.
I joined James Cook University in 2008, and since then have been actively engaged in teaching a number of economics subjects and researching in the broad areas of empirical international trade, empirical industrial organisation, economic development, and market design, with a focus on foreign direct investment and Chinese economy.
I served as reviewers for a number of academic journals, and edited special issues for China Agricultrual Economic Review, Sustainability, and Singapore Economic Review. I was the President of Chinese Economics Society Australia (CESA), a non-profit and non-partisan organization in Australia that aims at promoting research and exchange activities related to the Chinese economy, in 2014-2016, and have served in the Council of Management of CESA since 2016.
