On 16 May 2025, the College of Business Law and Governance, James Cook University, hosted a workshop on market design at JCU’s Cairns Bada-jali Campus. The workshop features four top-notch researchers, with participants from JCU, CSIRO and CQUniversity:
Ivan Balbuzanov: Associate Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics of the University of Melbourne, and an affiliate of the Centre for Market Design. His primary research focus is Microeconomic Theory, Market Design, Game Theory, Mechanism Design, and Strategic Communication.
Isa Hafalir: Professor of Economics at the UTS Business School of University of Technology Sydney. His primary research focus is Game Theory, Auction Theory, Matching Theory, Mechanism Design, and Market Design.
Fuhito Kojima: Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics of the University of Tokyo, and Director of University of Tokyo Market Design Centre. His primary research focus is Microeconomic Theory, Game Theory, Market Design, and Political Economics.
Maciej Kotowski: Associate Professor of Economics and Gilbert F. Schaefer Collegiate Chair at the University of Notre Dame, USA. His primary research focus is Microeconomic Theory, Auctions, Market Design, Matching Markets, and Economic Networks.
