School History

            Sixto Babao Elementary School started it's existence in 1957 bearing the name of Ilang Primary School under the administration of Mr. Nazrani Susulan with four (4) teaching staff. The School was situated along the seashore with one building made of cogon, bamboo and coconut leaves occupied by the grade three (3) and four (4) pupils. While the grade one (1) and (2) pupils, occupied a rented house owned by Ma. Epifanio Villocino.

Señora Justina Vda. De Babao, a wealthy philanthropist donated a 5,021 square meter school site. It was the same year that the school was officially included in Bunawan District with the name Sixto Babao Elementary School.

In 1965, Veloso and Army Type building were constructed, serving as classrooms. Then, several building constrution were made years hence. 

Due to the creation of new shcools nearby, Sixto Babao Elementary School was grouped with the schools in the southern part, dubbed as Bangoy District. But, in 2002, Bangoy District was divided into two. Schools in the south were grouped and retain as group name Bangoy District. Morever, schools in the northern part, where Sixto Babao Elementary School belongs where group in a newly created District, Tibungco District.

Enhancement of the School Official Logo

Through the initiative and guidance of the former school principal Sir Andres

S. Perez, our School official logo was enhanced and improved. The newly

enhanced school logo was launched last September 16, 2020 during the

blessing of the 4-storey new building classroom. Through the creativity and

inspiration of Sir Perez with the assistance and help of the school ICT

Coordinator Ma'am Carla G. Espanto, our simple logo is now enhanced and became more symbolic.
