If you want a versatile dongle that lets you listen to high-fidelity audio while simultaneously fast-charging your modern smartphone, choose SIXSIM USB C; if you need a dedicated, durable cable to power older Bluetooth speakers and gaming headsets with Micro-USB ports, choose JMDDS USB Charger Charging. These two products serve fundamentally different purposes in the world of portable audio, and confusing them could leave you stranded without power or sound. One is an adapter for cutting-edge phones, and the other is a charging cord for legacy audio gear. I have analyzed the specifications for both to help you decide which one fits your specific setup, particularly when you are looking for reliable tools for studying in a dorm room or library where battery anxiety can ruin your focus.
• SIXSIM USB C: Its biggest strength is the 2-in-1 design that splits a single port into a 3.5mm audio jack and a PD 60W charging input, but its trade-off is that it only works with devices lacking a headphone jack and requires a specific PD wall charger for full speed.
• JMDDS USB Charger Charging: Its biggest strength is the robust 5-foot length and 3A fast-charging capability designed specifically for Micro-USB audio devices like JBL and Bose speakers, but its trade-off is that it cannot connect to modern USB-C phones or transfer data.
• Who each pick is for: Choose the SIXSIM if you own a Samsung Galaxy S24/S25 series or iPhone 15/16 and need to charge while using wired headphones; choose the JMDDS if you rely on older wireless speakers, gaming headsets, or MP3 players that still use the standard Micro-USB connector.
The SIXSIM USB C adapter is engineered for the user who refuses to compromise between audio quality and battery life. In my view, this is the ideal solution for studying when you need to block out distractions with noise-canceling wired headphones but also require your phone to stay powered through long lecture halls or late-night study sessions. The key feature here is the dual-port architecture. It takes your single USB-C port and effectively creates two separate pathways: one for a 3.5mm analog audio connection and another for Power Delivery (PD) charging up to 60 watts. This means you can plug in your favorite wired earbuds and a charging cable simultaneously without fighting over a single port or using a bulky splitter that gets in the way.
The audio performance is another critical factor for students who care about clarity. The internal DAC supports 16-bit/192kHz or 24-bit/96kHz resolution, which ensures that the music you listen to remains crisp and free from the electrical noise that often plagues cheaper adapters. If you are listening to classical music or detailed podcasts during your study time, this level of Hi-Fi transmission matters. It also includes a built-in chip that intelligently identifies the voltage and current requirements of your device, maintaining stability to protect your phone's battery health. This is not just a passive piece of plastic; it actively manages the power flow to ensure your device charges safely while you stream audio.

However, this product is not for everyone. You should skip this adapter if your phone already has a 3.5mm headphone jack, as you will simply be wasting money on a dongle you don't need. Furthermore, while the adapter itself handles the splitting, it relies on your external wall charger being capable of PD 3.0 to achieve the advertised 60W speeds. If you use an old, slow brick, you won't get the fast-charging benefit. Also, be aware that this device does not support data transfer; it is strictly for audio and power. If you need to move files between your computer and phone via this adapter, it will not work. It is a specialized tool for a very specific niche: users of modern smartphones who still prefer the reliability and soundstage of wired headphones over wireless options.
The JMDDS USB Charger Charging cable targets a completely different demographic: owners of older-generation wireless audio equipment. While the SIXSIM solves the problem of modern phones losing their headphone jacks, the JMDDS cable solves the problem of keeping older, beloved speakers and headsets alive. This is a straightforward Micro-USB cable, but its design choices make it superior for specific use cases involving heavy-duty audio gear. The standout feature is the length. At 5 feet, this cable provides significant freedom of movement. You can place your speaker on a bedside table while charging from a socket across the room, or set up a game controller on the floor while the console sits on a shelf. For anyone for studying who uses a portable speaker to play white noise or lo-fi beats in the background, this extra reach prevents the frustration of tangled cords and limited mobility.
Performance-wise, this cable is built to handle higher currents. With a maximum capacity of 3 amps, it delivers significantly more power than standard low-current cables. This is essential for larger devices like JBL Charge series speakers or Sony Soundbars that might drain quickly or take forever to charge with a weak cable. The 15-watt output ensures that these devices recharge efficiently, getting you back to listening mode faster. The build quality appears robust, designed to withstand the daily wear and tear of being plugged into various Bluetooth speakers, gaming consoles, and even some older Android phones. It is a "set it and forget it" accessory that just works reliably every time you plug it in.
You must avoid this product if your primary devices are modern smartphones. It uses a Micro-USB connector, which is now largely obsolete for new phones, so it will not fit the USB-C ports found on the latest Samsung Galaxy, iPhone, or Google Pixel models. It is also a charging-only cable; it cannot transmit data, so you cannot use it to sync files. Additionally, the compatibility list is extensive but specific to Micro-USB devices. If you try to use it with a device that requires USB-C, it simply won't connect. It is a niche product for people who have a collection of JBL, Bose, Anker, or Sony audio gear that hasn't been upgraded to the newest standards yet. If you are looking to power a modern tablet or phone, this cable is the wrong tool for the job.
• Best for modern smartphones with no headphone jack → SIXSIM USB C: Only this adapter allows simultaneous audio playback and fast charging on devices like the iPhone 16 or Samsung S25.
• Best for older Bluetooth speakers and gaming headsets → JMDDS USB Charger Charging: This is the only option that physically connects to Micro-USB ports found in JBL Flip, Bose SoundLink, and Sony XB series devices.
• Best for extended reach and comfort → JMDDS USB Charger Charging: The 5-foot length offers far more flexibility than the short dongle form factor of the SIXSIM.
• Best for high-fidelity audio quality → SIXSIM USB C: The integrated DAC and support for 24-bit/96kHz audio provide a cleaner signal than what most basic charging cables offer.
• Best for rapid power delivery on compatible devices → SIXSIM USB C: Supports up to 60W PD charging, ensuring your phone battery doesn't drain during long study sessions.
• Best for heavy-duty charging of large audio units → JMDDS USB Charger Charging: The 3A current rating is better suited for powering larger speakers that draw more energy than a phone.
• Best for simplicity and durability → JMDDS USB Charger Charging: A simple, round, flexible cable with fewer moving parts or chips to fail compared to the complex electronics inside the adapter.
• Best for future-proofing your audio setup → SIXSIM USB C: As phones move toward USB-C exclusively, this adapter bridges the gap to traditional wired headphones.
In my opinion, if you are buying this for for studying and you own a modern smartphone, the SIXSIM USB C is the clear winner because it solves the immediate problem of needing to charge while listening to audio without wireless interference. The ability to maintain a stable, high-quality wired connection while drawing 60W of power is a game-changer for productivity. However, if your study setup relies on a vintage JBL speaker or an older gaming headset that still uses Micro-USB, then the JMDDS USB Charger Charging is the only logical choice due to its superior length and high-amperage charging capabilities. I would buy the SIXSIM for my daily commute and library visits, but I keep the JMDDS cable in my bag specifically for those older devices that refuse to upgrade to USB-C. Both are excellent tools, but they belong to different eras of technology.
No, the JMDDS cable uses a Micro-USB connector and is incompatible with the USB-C ports found on modern iPhones and most current Android flagships.
The datasheet indicates it features a built-in chip and supports high-resolution audio formats to ensure stable transmission without current noise hurting your ears.
The SIXSIM supports up to 60W PD charging for phones, whereas the JMDDS cable is rated for a maximum of 3A (15 watts), making it better suited for smaller audio devices than fast-charging a phone.
