Salutations! My name is Illiyeen and I am currently pursing my bachelor's degree in Education, with a specialization in Primary Education. My hobbies include reading and learning French, but my passion is most definitely teaching.

Growing up, I attended 7 different academic institutions in over 4 different countries: Vietnam, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and the US. This allowed me to experience the vast range of teaching philosophies and strategies that are in existence and I was able to learn in an environment that was well-suited for me. It wasn't until I came to Malaysia and had the opportunity to teach at the local refugee center that I understood that my experience was a privilege.

Learning should be a fun experience, especially for young kids where they are at such an impressionable age. With the proper tools, we can have students feel encouraged and motivated to learn and reduce a variety of illnesses and disorders that can often emerge during their older age.

I know there are areas I lack in, but with teaching experience through PPI and PPII I hope I can shape myself into a more capable individual and may this portfolio be a reflection of that journey.
