Towards A Conducive Learning Environment:

Integrating A Central Courtyard as a Design Strategy To Achieve Natural Ventilation In A Montessori Child Care Center

The aim of this study is to design a Montessori childcare center that integrates a central courtyard as a design element to achieve natural ventilation.

Creating optimal learning environments is essential for fostering the development of children, particularly in early education settings. This proposal focuses on the design of a Montessori child care center in Kota Damansara, with an emphasis on integrating a central courtyard to enhance natural ventilation. The Montessori philosophy, which prioritizes experiential learning and the natural development of children, provides a strong foundation for incorporating sustainable architectural elements into educational spaces. The central courtyard serves as a multifunctional space that not only improves natural airflow and ventilation but also provides a dynamic environment for children to engage with nature.
