Recent data from philosophy programs in Chinese universities show that women make up around 40%–50% of undergraduate and graduate students, but less than 20% of faculty and under 10% of senior positions. This gap is shaped not only by individual choices but also by institutional culture, evaluation systems, and gender norms. This project explores these issues through lived experiences and seeks possible approaches for change.
We are currently seeking Chinese participants to take part in this research project (see details below). By sharing your experiences and perspectives, you will help deepen our understanding of gender dynamics within Chinese philosophy and contribute to fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and diverse philosophical community.
