When I first started using Google Sites, I was building a quick site for a big music festival. No hosting headaches. No plugin drama. Just… publish and go.
Loved it. So did the client.But then came the one thing I couldn’t do:
A countdown timer.If you’ve used Elementor or other site builders,
you know the drill:
Drag, style, done.
Google Sites? Nothing. Not even a basic timer.So, like any of us would - I Googled it.
Found a few embeddable options… and they looked fine.
But every single one had the same problem:
They relied on external scripts.So I built my own.
Hard-coded a timer that was clean, fast, no external scripts.It worked. But updating it? Nightmare.
Want to change the date? Edit code.
New color scheme? Code.
