Secondary PGCE pre-course tasks

This site is a landing page for information and guidance relating to the pre-course tasks for the Secondary PGCE cohort 2026-27. 

The goal of these tasks is to help you get a head start on some of the kinds of thinking and ideas we will be looking at in the induction to our September teaching block and beyond. They aren't essential at this early stage, because we're aware that not every student will have the time or capacity to complete these tasks prior to the start of the course. Rather, they are something to help those who have the chance to engage with them get to grips with the kinds of things we will be doing on the course itself.
