Sit Club is Philly's first social mediation club. If you're tired of meditating alone and want a community of practice, then Sit Club might be the place for you.
The club comes from a desire for accessible connection among meditators. There are many wonderful communal ways to practice meditation and we encourage participating in those. But sometimes you want to drop in and do your thing, but in the presence of others. So if you practice seated, silent meditation - or want to start! - you're welcome to join regardless of style.
We are a secular and nondenominational space. What this means is that, while recognizing that meditation is a spiritual practice, Sit Club does not feature any meditation style or faith tradition in the club. We are also exclusively for silent, seated practice. There are many methods for embodied insight and they are all valid and appreciated. Sit Club, however, is for meditation that is done silently and from a seated, stationary position.
Sit Club, for now, meets on the 4th Saturday of the month at the Philadelphia Ethical Society (1906 South Rittenhouse Square, 19103). RSVP at the links on our linktree or the calendar to the left/above.
