Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using SipShelf: Wine & Whiskey.Â
xSoft Global built SipShelf: Wine & Whiskey as a mobile application for iOS. This SERVICE is provided by xSoft Global and is intended for use as is. The app is free to download and offers paid subscription plans that unlock additional features.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy explains how SipShelf: Wine & Whiskey ("SipShelf", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use our iOS application. By using SipShelf, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
SipShelf keeps your wine and whiskey collection on your own device and in your own iCloud account. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information SipShelf: Wine & Whiskey (the "App") uses, why, and the choices you have. The App is provided by XSoft ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Use.
No account required. You do not need to create an account, sign in, or give us your name, email address, or phone number to use the App.
Your collection data. The information you create in the App stays on your device and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your private iCloud account. This includes:
bottles, producers, vintages, regions, and other bottle details;
quantities, storage locations, purchase dates, and purchase prices;
tasting notes, ratings, and drinking-window reminders;
bottle photos you add.
We do not upload, transmit, or store your collection data on our servers, and we cannot access it. It is used only to provide the App's features to you.
Information from third-party services. The App uses a small number of third-party services for purchases, analytics, crash reporting, and, with your permission, advertising measurement. These services may collect limited technical information, as described in Sections 4 to 6.
The App asks for each permission below only when you use a feature that needs it. All of them are optional.
Camera. The camera is used to scan bottle labels and take bottle photos. Label scanning reads the text on a label, such as the producer, name, and vintage, to help fill in bottle details. This processing happens entirely on your device.
Photo Library. You can choose photos from your library to add to a bottle. The App can use only the photos you pick. It does not browse, scan, or read the rest of your library.
What we do not do. We do not upload your photos or camera images to our servers or send them to any third party. We do not use facial recognition. A photo is saved in the App only when you choose to attach it to a bottle.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, the App can send reminders you set, such as when a bottle is ready to drink. Reminders are scheduled on your device, and their content is not sent to us.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT). The App may ask for permission to track your activity across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you tap "Allow," we and our measurement partners, such as Google Analytics for Firebase, may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to measure how our marketing campaigns perform, for example, which ad led you to install the App. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track," we do not access your IDFA or track you across other companies' apps and websites. The App works the same either way.
Changing permissions. You can change these permissions at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera, Photos, or Tracking, and in Settings > Notifications > SipShelf. Bottles and photos you already saved stay in the App until you delete them.
iCloud sync. If you turn on iCloud sync, your collection data is stored in your private iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit so it can sync across your Devices. This data is stored by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot see or access it. You can turn off iCloud for the App at any time in your Device settings.
Location. The App does not request access to your device's location services and does not track your location. Any place you type in, such as where you bought a bottle, is stored as part of your collection data.
The App offers optional paid features through Apple in-app purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple Account.
We never receive or store your credit card number, bank details, or billing address. Through Apple's StoreKit, we receive only the transaction and subscription status needed to unlock paid features and restore your purchases on a new or reinstalled Device.
You can view, manage, or cancel subscriptions at any time in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. For how Apple handles payment information, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to fix crashes. These services may collect:
device model, operating system version, app version, and language settings;
approximate region derived from your IP address;
screens opened, features used, and session length;
a pseudonymous app instance identifier;
crash logs, including the date, time, and technical state of the App when an error happened.
This information does not include your collection data, tasting notes, or photos. We use it only to fix problems and improve the App. We do not link it to your identity, and we use it for advertising measurement only if you allow tracking (see Section 2).
We work with the following providers to run the App. They may process limited information only to perform services for us and are not allowed to use it for other purposes. None of them receives your collection data or photos.
Apple iCloud (CloudKit)
Optional sync in your own iCloud account
Google Analytics for Firebase
Usage analytics; ad measurement if you allow tracking
Firebase Crashlytics
Crash reporting
Selling, ads, and tracking. We do not sell your personal information, and the App does not show ads. We track your activity across other companies' apps and websites only if you allow it through App Tracking Transparency. You can change that choice at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Your collection data stays on your device, and in your iCloud account if sync is on, until you delete it. We do not keep a copy.
Deleting data on your device. You can delete individual bottles in the App, use the reset option in the App's settings where available, or delete the App. Deleting the App removes its local data from that Device.
Deleting iCloud data. If you used iCloud sync, a copy may remain in your iCloud account after you delete the App. You can remove it in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage.
Backups. We do not back up your data. If you restore your Device from an iCloud or computer backup that includes app data, your collection may be restored under Apple's backup settings.
Analytics and crash data. Firebase keeps this data under its own retention settings. To ask us to delete data collected through these services, email [support email] with the subject "Data Deletion Request." We will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent.
EEA and UK residents have these rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. If you allowed tracking, you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Because your collection data stays on your device or in your iCloud account, you can view, export, edit, or delete it directly in the App. For any other request, contact us at [support email]. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
International transfers. Our service providers, including Google and Apple, may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers are protected by safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information. Your Device's security features protect your collection data and, if sync is on, by Apple's iCloud security. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App contains content about alcoholic beverages and is intended only for people of legal drinking age, and in any case at least 18 years old. It is not directed to children or minors.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information through the App, contact us at [support email] and we will take steps to delete it.
The App may contain links to third-party websites, such as retailers or producer pages. We do not operate these sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before sharing any information with them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App or on our website and change the effective date above. For material changes, we will give reasonable notice, such as an in-app message.
