Welcome
Hi! I am Sioree (pronounced as 'Shy-o-ree'). I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute for Computational Cosmology (ICC) and Centre for Extragalactic Astronomy, Durham University. My research is primarily in the field of Galaxy Dynamics. At Durham, I study the connection between Dark Matter halos of galaxies and stellar disks of galaxies. I want to understand how different galaxy components (e.g., stellar bars) are connected with Dark Matter halo properties and how we can utilize these connections to find out the nature of Dark Matter.
In my research, I use controlled simutations (for example, N-body) and cosmological simulations (for example, IllustrisTNG, FIRE2, Auriga, Simba), that can help us study the formation and evolution of galaxies and their dark matter halos, along with the dynamics of stars in galaxies.
