Kinetic sculptures are moving mixed media projects ... some move on their own, powered by batteries, others can be moved and manipulated by participants and some have features of both.
Many are designed to be mobile pieces that can be hired for music and arts festivals.
My current large scale interactive kinetic installations are:
the Eyes of the Whirled, the EyeFull Tower, and Franklin's Tower.
The latest custom-built one for a festival is the RamBull Totter for the Ramble Festival that now lives at Camp Ramblewood in Maryland.
Contact me at siochaindesigns@gmail.com if you are interested in having one of them or having a new one created for your event.

is a 20 foot tall tower with a see-saw that people can play on. Above the tower is moving light-up eyeball spire that stretches 20 feet into the air, pumping up and down in response to people playing on the giant see-saw that is embedded into the base of the tower.
The see saw also powers eyelids and moving irises in the eyes that are recessed from the bottom to the top of this light up tower.
Created in August 2025 and debuted at Burning Man.
is a 10 foot tall tower with a rotating carousel outer wall that participants can spin and features cutouts and paintings ispired by the titular song by the Grateful Dead. When the outer tower is spun, light-up images on the internal tower pass by while a set of hanging chimes plays the tune of the song like a giant music box.
