Siobhán Correnty

Hi! I hold a PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. My research was in numerical linear algebra and supervised by Elias Jarlebring (KTH) and Kirk M. Soodhalter (Trinity College Dublin).

I came to Sweden from the US in the year 2012 as an English teacher and spent three years working, traveling, and learning the Swedish language before beginning my studies in mathematics.

My first name is pronounced Sha-von.

My full CV can be found here, and my PhD thesis is published here.

Teaching materials

During my PhD studies, I had the pleasure of teaching selected topics in mathematics to a class of talented high school students from the Stockholm area. For this project, I coauthored two books which were used as lecture notes for the courses. All of the writing and teaching was performed in Swedish.

Master's thesis

For my master's thesis, I experimented with multigrid methods for solving large nonsymmetric systems of linear equations arising from discretized PDEs.
