Hotels Aurora (Mamaia beach) 4-5 km walk from the University, 22 min by bus no. 5-40.
Megalos, at 3 min walk from the University.
From:
Railwaystation to Hotel Aurora, by bus 100M right in front. When you go out the station, you notice a big clock above the main entrance, and just in front of that clock is the bus-stop of 100M, a blue modern bus. The bus-stop near Hotel Aurora is called "Aqua Parc" and you will have to go around the fence surounding this parc.
Railwaystation to University or to the hotels: bus no. 5-40. This bus has a stop near the Parc Ferdinand in front of the Railwaystation, direction "Campus" (this is not our campus). For the Megalos Hotel and the University venue, get off at the stop "Turda", immediately after the "Spitalul Militar". The same bus continues towards Hotel Aurora.
Tickets: one can buy the journey by visa card from the electronic device inside the bus, or buy it from the ticket point called "Bilete-Abonamente" in front of the station, slightly to the right when you go out. This is open from 6:00 to 21:00 every day including Sunday. The price of a ticket with 2 journeys is 5 lei. One can buy a "7 days ticket" for 35 lei, valid in any bus, any time (called "abonament 7 zile"). The 7 days start on the moment you touch with it the small electronic device inside the bus. More info: https://info.ctbus.ro/
There is always the Uber solution, like 20 lei from the Railwaystation to the "old" University or to Hotel Megalos - be sure to give the exact address. Be careful and never say "campus" to the drivers since this means "the new campus" which is the end stop of bus 5-40 near Hotel Aurora.

Travel to Constanta, or to downtown Bucuresti
External and internal flights arrive at the International Airport Otopeni “Henri Coanda”, Bucharest.
There are direct bus shuttles to Constanta from inside the airport (about 30 euros) and directly to your hotel - to be specified to the driver. By train it is less expensive (~15 euros or slightly more if no-stop train). To reach the main railwaystation "Bucuresti Nord", take the direct airport train shuttle (every 40 min), see the train timetable. Check the train timetable Bucuresti Nord <--> Constanta. Not to be stuck, I advise that you buy as soon as possible your train tickets from this same website by credit card, since some trains tend to get full quickly. The return train tickets are also very important to be secured via early purchase form the same website. The tickets bought from internet can be exchanged for free from your account (for instance in case your flight is cancelled, which may happen these days).
From the Otopeni Airport to central downtown (Piata Romana, Hotel Berthelot) take the direct bus no. 100 beneath the Arrivals; every 20 min, directly payable by credit card inside the bus =3 lei (less then 1 euro, very low fare!). After 23:00, bus 100 runs every 30 minutes during all night.
If you are forced to take a taxi, than you should do it properly. First law: do not take any taxi which is already waiting in front of the Arivals hall since you will pay 5 times more than normal. What to do is this: first take a ticket from the "call machines" inside the Arrivals hall. These machines show several compagnies (with names like Speed, Meridian, Leone etc) with prices around 2,6 lei/km; this is the normal price. After choosing the taxi type and price (be careful since more expensive prices are proposed too), you will get a printed ticket with the number of the taxi car that will take you. This car (taxi cars are usually yellow colour) will come within 3-5 minutes, and this waiting time is written down on your ticket. Go out of the hall to the LEFT side and spot the taxis which come such that you can identify yours. Show your ticket to the driver of the correct taxi car. Do NOT take any other car but the one with the precise number on your ticket. Then you are sure that the contract/price is safe.
Local curency is called "leu", pluriel "lei" [but the authorities insist to call it "RON" for obscure reasons].
The exchange rate is 1 euro ~ 5 lei. One can pay almost everything by credit card like Visa, Mastercard (in any currency it may be, with a tiny exchange charge).
