A single ticket sold in Georgia captured the staggering $980 million jackpot in the Mega Millions drawing held on November 14, 2025. The winning numbers were 1, 8, 11, 12, 57, and the gold Mega Ball 7. The odds of winning the jackpot stood at about 1 in 290.5 million.
With the win, the prize is now the eighth-largest in Mega Millions history. The cash option for the winner is approximately $452.2 million before taxes.
The drawing ended a streak of 39 straight drawings without a jackpot winner — the longest drought in the game’s history.
This is the largest lottery prize ever awarded in the state of Georgia.
Players in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands participate in Mega Millions, where ticket prices are $5 and half of each ticket’s revenue remains in the state of purchase.
While jackpots make headlines, the game also paid out more than 800,000 non-jackpot prizes in the same drawing.
Officials and responsible-gaming groups caution players about the risks of gambling addiction and provide resources such as the National Problem Gambling Helpline.
