Chandan Singh

I am currently a PhD student at the University of Melbourne working under the supervision of A/Prof. Marcy Robertson. I was at the Imperial College London, studying for a Master's in Pure Mathematics on a full scholarship, the Chevening Scholarship. I received the Future Research Talent Award at the Australian National University before starting at Imperial. I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mathematics at the University of Delhi, India.

My main research is centered around various aspects of Operads and their modules, Configuration Spaces, Low-Dimensional Topology, Homotopy Theory, Grothendieck- Teichmüller groups, Drinfeld's Associators and Kashiwara-Vergne problem.

Upcoming activities:

  • Attending  Masterclass: Infinity operads and Applications to Geometry, Copenhagen Centre for Geometry and Topology, University of Copenhagen (11th Aug - 15th Aug 2025).

  • Contributed Talk titled "Characterising the Grothendieck- Teichmüller group through Cyclic operad" at the Masterclass: Infinity operads and Applications to Geometry (15th Aug 2025).

  • Research Visit, Department of Mathematics, Stockholm University, Swedan (18th Aug - 23th Aug 2025).

  • Talk titled "A hidden symmetry of Grothendieck-Teichmüller group" at the Stockholm University (19th Aug 2025).

Recent activities:

  • Research stay, School of Mathematics and Physics, Queen's University Belfast hosted by David Barnes (12th April - 17th April 2025).

  • Attended Operads and Calculus, as part of Equivariant homotopy theory in context, Queen's University Belfast (7th April - 11th April 2025).

  • Attending  Masterclass: Building bridges between algebra and geometry, Cobordism Categories, Copenhagen Centre for Geometry and Topology, University of Copenhagen (17th Feb - 21st Feb 2025).

  • Lightning talk titled "Galois Actions, Grothendieck-Teichmüller groups and Kashiwara-Vergne problem" during the GongShow at Masterclass: Building bridges between algebra and geometry, Cobordism Categories (20th Feb 2025).

  • Talk titled "Grothendieck- Teichmüller group and the (Cyclic) Ribbon group operad" at the University of Southern Denmark (12th Feb 2025).

  • Research Visit, Centre of Quantum Mathematics, University of Southern Denmark (8th Feb - 15th Feb 2025) –  Hosted by Guillaume Laplante-Anfossi.

I pay respect to Elders past, present and future, and acknowledge the importance of Indigenous knowledge in the Academy. As a community of researchers, teachers, professional staff and students we are privileged to work and learn every day with Indigenous colleagues and partners.
