Currently using 3x Netlea AT6 Pro.
UNS Controsoil.
No, I'd be wasting too much water. I usually do around 50% water changes every week, so about 60 gallons gets changed.
Assuming I use a unit with 1:1.5 product to waste ratio, I would be using 150 gallons a week. 60 gallons RODI and 90 gallons waste water. If I had an easier way to use that 90 gallons of waster water I'd consider switching to RODI.
Water is pretty hard here. 8.0~8.2 ph, 9~11 dkH, and 14~15 dgH usually.
Below is my annual water report:
Changes with every scape, it's mostly DIY recipes.
A sump with a lid. The lid helps prevent co2 from degassing too much.
I replace the polyfil sheet every week on the sump.
The knitting mesh on top of the poly-fil is to help screen bigger pieces of debris/plant matter so the sheet doesn't clog too fast.
If I had to remake my sump I would remove the the divider between the K1 and Lava Rock sections and just replace those 2 sections with Poret foam.
Currently using a DIY Yugang horizontal reactor.
Old: DIY dual stage regulator with a Dwyer flowmeter to measure co2 input.
Duo Cerges reactors to mix co2. Cerges reactor dimensions are 4.5" x 20."
The Speece Cone unit mixes up the CO2 and water into small bubbles and the dwell time unit insures that the CO2 is saturated.
I run my co2 8hrs a day.
