Biographical Information

     Sinésio Pesco is associate professor of the Department of Mathematics at PUC-Rio. His main research interests are in Geometric Modeling, Computational Topology, Scientific Visualization and Petroleum reservoir modeling. Since 1996, he has been working in reservoir characterization and research projects related to the oil industry. Currently, he coordinates research and development projects related to applied mathematics with applications in the oil industry, in partnership with Petrobras.

      He received his PhD degree in Applied Mathematics at Pontificial Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) in 1997.  Postdoctoral at   SCI Institute - Univertity of Utah in 2004,  and visiting professor at  NYU - New York University - Polytechnic Institute in second semester of 2012.

   He was general chair of the 32nd edition of SIBGRAPI - Conference on Graphics, Patterns and Images held in 2019 in Rio Centro, Rio de Janeiro. He is elected member of CEGRAPI - Special Commission on Computer Graphics and Image Processing in 2019 and he is member of SBC (Brazilian Computer Society), ACM SIGGRAPH, and SBMAC (Brazilian Society of Applied and Computational Mathematics).
